The QC Coalition for Happiness and Wellbeing started organically when Genesis Health, Animal Family Veterinary Care Center and the City of Davenport each independently began to implement the research on happiness and wanted to combine resources and effort to support one another. As this collaboration began to take shape members realized the tremendous potential for the Quad-City community at large. Soon Junior Achievement, The Quad-City Times as well as Sudlow Intermediate and Central High Schools joined the coalition.

Also during this time Genesis embarked on an evidence-based research project to determine the effectiveness and impact of the Happiness Advantage | Orange Frog Happiness Training on critical measures of organizational health during a massive restructuring effort. The substantial positive outcomes included impressive gains in Patient Satisfaction, Clinical Quality, Employee Engagement and a return to profitability; which have documented and published by Harvard Business Review, click here to read the article.

The key objectives of the Coalition and its members are to bring this advantage to life through both learning and living, by…

  1. • providing support for the happiness advantage training that can be made available inside our companies and classrooms and

  2. creating the connections and conditions for a real happiness movement to spread throughout our diverse communities.

Our hope is that as levels of optimism and well-being rise, the Quad Cities can experience what few communities only hope for…achieving our greatest potential through leveraging interconnected success and wellbeing.
